How is this beer different than Two Hearted?
What is a lo-cal IPA? It’s called Light Hearted. So, is it Two Hearted light?
-
Light Hearted shares many of the same characteristics that we all love about Two Hearted. There are differences though. It’s is not brewed with one single hop. The malt bill is also different. Light Hearted has fewer calories and a lower ABV; it’s a low-calorie IPA that cuts down on the things many don’t want but keeps everything about the taste that people love.
-
What is the same? Quality ingredients. Balance. The hoppiness. The aroma.
Pricing Questions
Why am I paying the same as Two Hearted? Since this has less alcohol shouldn’t it be cheaper?
- Generally, it’s become pretty standard to associate low ABV beers with lower prices, but with those lower prices come shortcuts, especially with ingredients. We didn’t take any short cuts, especially with the quantity and quality of those ingredients. No corn, no rice plus we used large amounts of Centennial and Galaxy hops.
Isn't this just a watered-down Two Hearted with fewer ingredients?
- Light Hearted is a lo-cal IPA that does not sacrifice flavor to get to a lower ABV. When we set out to develop this beer we had very specific goals; flavor, aroma, body and color, in addition to less calories - all things we knew our fans and customers were looking for.
- This beer drinks with the flavor you would expect from a Bell’s beer. Unlike other low-calories, low-ABV beers, the hop aroma and malt backbone are still there, just like Two Hearted.
