Bell's Oberon 2026 Mini Kegs

Oberon Mini Kegs

The long-awaited release of Oberon mini kegs marks the beginning of the summer and sunshine season! For fans of Oberon Ale, this isn’t just another seasonal drop—it’s a tradition. Each year, anticipation builds as drinkers wait to spot these 5-liter kegs on shelves.

But what truly sets the mini keg apart isn’t just what’s inside—it’s what it represents. Holding roughly ten 16-ounce pints of Oberon, it’s perfectly sized for a small gathering to share with friends and family.

When are mini kegs available?

While Oberon season kicks off in late March, mini kegs typically hit the shelves around Memorial Day weekend.
As of 5/18/2026, mini kegs have arrived at the General Store in Kalamazoo!

There is a limited number available, and they go fast! Keep reading for more information on where they are available.

Where can I find a mini keg?

Distribution is limited, historically concentrated in Bell’s home territory, which only adds to the excitement of the hunt.

Finding one can still feel like striking gold at times! While availability has expanded slightly over the years, the following Bell’s core markets are expected to receive mini kegs:
  1. Michigan
  2. Illinois
  3. Ohio
  4. Wisconsin
  5. Minnesota
  6. Indiana
  7. Pennsylvania

For those living in these areas, you’ll want to scan the Bell's Beer Finder for that elusive “2 1.32 Gal Party Can” listing.

Mini keg usage notes:

  1. Best consumed within 12–48 hours of opening
    1. Limited shelf life due to dissolved oxygen
  2. Must be refrigerated

How do I open and serve my mini keg?

Our mini kegs are manufactured in Germany and printed with their new designs before being shipped back to our brewery, where they are filled with Oberon.
The manufacturers debuted a new tap last year, and have a helpful tutorial on how to open and serve your keg on their YouTube channel: Envases new tap mini kegs - how to pour

However you choose to enjoy it, the Oberon mini keg is a fun and shareable way to kick off the season. Here’s to sunshine, good company, and great beer—cheers to Oberon!
